Anyminutenow presents ... RETREAT... 15 contemporary artists currently living and working in Ireland show new work at the Citylights Hosier Lane site in Melbourne. The original work was standard A4 size and sent by mail to Australia, this was then enlarged to A0 and posted to the walls of of this city-centre outdoor art venue. The exhibition will last until the work is covered by other posting, stencilling, graffiti, etc. Usually this takes a number of months.
.............Most of the works in this show were produced specifically for this project, and don't exist in any other context. The Curators; Vaari Claffi & Alexa Coyne are both from Dublin, Vaari currently works as a freelance curator and Alexa works with Creative Time in New York, while selecting the works for RETREAT Alexa worked as the Visual Arts programmer in Dublin's City Arts Centre

RETREAT is the third in a series of photocopy exhibitions and will be exchanged with a similiar show of Melbourne based artists entitled 67% SAY THEY WERE MISLED. Both exhibitions opened in Dublin and Melbourne during May 2004.

The first show in the series, NOW MORE THAN EVER curated by Fintan Friel was a collection of artists based in New York City and ran from May-July 2002 at Citylights.
